Herbal Nettle Iced Tea

Nettles contain a lot of wonderful nutrients. This tea makes it easy to regularly consume them to get the most benefit.

Ingredients

  • 1 gal filtered water
  • 1/4 cup dried nettle tea leaves
  • 1/8 cup dried mint tea leaves or 10 sprigs of fresh mint
  • 1/3-1/2 cup raw honey
  • 2 freshly squeezed lemons
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt optional for mineral boost

Instructions

  1. Bring 2 quarts of filtered water to a boil then add the dried nettle and mint leaves. Simmer with a lid on for 10 minutes. 

  2. Let the tea cool to around room temperature. This will create an infusion which is more potent than just a tea. 

  3. Next, use a metal fine mesh strainer to strain off tea leaves. Add another 2+ quarts of water to your tea water to make a full gallon. 

  4. Add honey, the juice of two lemons to the tea, and (optional: an 1/8 teaspoon of sea salt). Stir until the honey is completely dissolved.

  5. Chill in the refrigerator for 4 hours or pour over ice to drink right away. Then enjoy the refreshing benefits of this delicious herbal iced tea.
